Rare Disease Day 2024: The countdown begins!

The countdown has begun for Rare Disease Day 2024. Held each year on the last day of February and coordinated by EURORDIS, the Day is a key moment for the 300 million people living with rare diseases worldwide to step into the light, share their stories, and make their voices heard.
On 29th February 2024, groups around the world will organise events for local rare disease communities to come together and raise awareness about their shared challenges. To learn more about Rare Disease Day and events happening near you, you can explore the website in your local language.
In anticipation of the upcoming Day, individuals from around the world were invited to share their stories. The submissions have been compiled into a video which demonstrates the diversity of the rare disease community. Available in more than 60 languages, the video is available below and on Rare Disease Day’s website.
EURORDIS has also announced that the 2024 Black Pearl Awards will be held on 20th February 2024 in Brussels and in a hybrid format. Registration to attend is now open, with early bird prices available until 15th January.
