Conference on Global Globin 2020 Challenge, 2019 edition
This year, the 16th Conference on Global Globin 2020 Challenge, 2019 edition, took place in Paris, from 28 to 30 October, and was hosted once again by the UNESCO. The conference theme was "Enhancing Partnership Towards Equitable Healthcare" and the event created space for discussions on a wide range of topics, such as “variant detection to advanced human genomic data sharing”, and “hemoglobin/blood diseases, especially Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Disease”. In addition, five projects, presented by EuroBloodNet, an European Reference Network for Rare Blood Diseases, and a Model for Emulation, focused on topics like “rare Anemias improving the European panorama of hemoglobinopathies from a clinical, epidemiological, political and educational point of view.”
